We had twins!

That “oh, my goodness, this is wonderful” feeling because you know that in a few minutes you will be drifting off into a much-needed rest? Well, after spending several hours with this set of boy and girl newborn twins, I needed that rest more than ever. Don’t get me wrong, these two newborn babies were absolutely perfect for their entire session. But as any parent of twins will tell you, they really can be double the work. 2 year old brother cuddling his twin newborn siblingsWe started their session by getting their 2-year-old big brother in on the action. He was so great with his little brother and sister, but just like most toddlers, he was only really interested in me for about 20 minutes. But that was more than enough time to capture this beautiful image. This little man was so sleepy and happy to let me guide him into every position. Momma spent most of the session trading babies with me. She would nurse while I would work with whoever was sleeping.newborn baby girl wrapped in cream with a flower headbandOr not sleeping! Sister was very alert for a good part of her time with me, so we just rolled with it. I loved her perfect lips and adorable eyes.newborn baby boy sleeping on his side on tan blanketHere’s brother again, so peaceful. We kept the room really warm and he was more than happy to enjoy some “diaper free” time.newborn baby girl wrapped in deep purple on an red blanketMomma’s milk finally lulled baby sister to sleep. She was very aware of every touch though, so we just loosely wrapped her and captured her just the way she was on that day.newborn twin girl wrapped in purple and newborn twin boy wrapped in creamBy the end of their session, I had a new appreciation for all of those parents of twins out there. I know I have four kids, but they all came one at a time! I’m sure this family appreciates that blissful “first lie down” feeling every single chance they get.
