Bennett ~ One-Year Outdoor + Studio Portraits

Not long ago, Bennett’s mom contacted me about doing a one-year session for her little man. They had moved into the area awhile back, and they were searching for a photographer who would do both outdoor and studio photography. She wanted these pictures to match his previous photographs, and her plan was to keep that theme going as he grew up. Since my studio was only a few minutes away from our outdoor location, I knew this would be a breeze to accomplish for them. Mom was thrilled and couldn’t wait!

Outdoor & Studio Photography Mash-Up

Bennet took to the outdoors so well. He loved walking up and down the path with Dad. He was wearing the biggest smile with Mom. He had a blast as she was throwing him in the air — I just love that photo of Mom and Bennett so much! Although he wanted to explore, he was such a trooper as he posed in the rocking chair and crate, too. I love the photographs of the whole family together. Their wardrobe, especially Mom’s red dress, popped so well with the beautiful background. The leaves had changed colors gorgeously as nature was welcoming fall.

While he was an angel outside, he must have worked up quite an appetite. Once we got inside, Mom handed him his favorite veggie cakes, and he was all smiles. We tried to do a cake smash, but who wants cake when you can eat veggie cakes? (Me, that’s who!) But Mom is obviously doing something right here. I love how unique the veggie cake smash turned out! Bennett wore the cutest expressions for his solo shots in the studio. I couldn’t get enough of his sweet little grin and splayed-out hands as he walked towards the camera — so classic!
