Fine Art Maternity Photography Session

Mom and Dad are so excited about their baby boy who will be arriving very soon. Grandma was equally excited, so she came along to the maternity session at my studio as well. We had so much fun helping Mom pick out the two gowns and jewelry to go with her wardrobe choices. Mom is a woman after my own heart; she loves all things that sparkle! 

I wanted to create really elegant and classic photographs for this couple. We chose to do some intimate photographs with Mom and Dad to start and end the session. Dad was happy to get to take some photos with his wife and mother of his child, but he preferred to let Mom be the star of the show. And that she was. She looked absolutely radiant in the rich emerald gown. The flowing train and deep neckline looked absolutely stunning on her. She then changed into a beautiful cloud colored gown with a soft, airy a-line skirt and jeweled bodice. The statement necklace that we had chosen picked up the sparkles of the bodice perfectly and added a touch of teal that complemented Dad’s sweater perfectly. 

My absolute favorite photograph is the one in the chair. Her pensive look creates such a beautiful moment captured of her dreaming about her baby boy that will arrive in such a short time. She looks like a classic beauty, almost statuesque. I could almost see it in the museum. However, one of my favorites to create was the wide shot of the green gown flowing outward. It took 9 photographs to complete, and I painted it all together to create this dramatic portrait. This shows her in all the glory that motherhood is and makes her look like a beautiful goddess. I can’t wait to see this couple again when their sweet baby boy arrives!
