Read All About It! A Newsworthy Newborn Photoshoot with Parents ~ Luca
Newborn Photoshoot with Parents
Every parent who brings their newborn to me for a photo session is thrilled about their new child and can’t wait to get portraits they’ll treasure for generations. But there’s a certain enthusiasm in many of my first-time parents that is infectious, and it’s a special privilege to help their dreams for their baby’s photos come true.
That was especially true for baby Luca and his parents who are over the moon with love for their little boy. When it comes to photos, Mom and Dad’s tastes are worlds apart: Mom loves simple, classic portraits while Dad loves to have fun with some more unique elements. So what did we do? We split the session between their two tastes, of course!
Luca was such a sweet little sleeper for his classic portraits. He makes a lot of facial expressions while he sleeps too, and it was so much fun to watch him and get his amazing little personality on camera. I have to say that his little “The Rock” brow flex needs to be my favorite picture of all!
To give Dad the personalized, unique photos he wanted, I had the opportunity to play with a bit of creativity. Dad especially wanted a picture of baby Luca dressed up like a little newspaper carrier sitting on the sidewalk, so I headed outside, laid down on the sidewalk, and created the perfect background photo to use for a composite, and Dad was thrilled with how it turned out!
Dad also wanted to pay homage to his Italian heritage in Luca’s photos, and that didn’t take quite as much adventurism. We created a great shot of Luca sleeping in a can of tomatoes with more Italian imagery in the background.
