The Heartwarming Reunion with Julian’s Family

There’s a special kind of magic that comes with watching a family grow, and Julian’s family holds a dear place in my heart. This was our fourth session together, capturing Julian’s first birthday with a special all white milestone photoshoot. His parents were thrilled to bring him and his big sister, Emilia, back to One Big Happy Photo. Having photographed Emilia and Julian’s newborn sessions, as well as Emilia’s 1-year-old session, it felt like a beautiful reunion.

All White Theme: Simplicity that Shines

For Julian’s milestone session, we decided on an all white theme. This minimalist approach created a perfect backdrop, allowing Julian and Emilia’s vibrant personalities to truly shine. The simplicity of the setting highlighted their playful spirits and the deep bond they share as siblings.

Capturing Julian’s Milestone Moments

Julian, at one year old, was not quite walking yet but loved to stand while holding onto something sturdy. His joy in crawling and sitting was evident, and every photograph captured his curiosity and happiness.

One of the highlights of the session was the smash photoshoot. Julian’s eyes lit up when he saw the blueberry muffin his mom had chosen, paying homage to the berry hats knitted by their grandmother. Emilia joined in the fun, reminiscing her own 1-year-old session with a strawberry theme. The pictures of Julian delightedly exploring his muffin, with Emilia by his side, were simply priceless.

A Special Family Tradition

Julian’s family has a unique tradition. Their grandmother, an accomplished knitter, made berry hats for both kids when they were born—Emilia’s was a strawberry and Julian’s a blueberry. During their newborn sessions, we created memorable portraits of each of them asleep with their heads and hands resting on a stack of pancakes, adorned with the corresponding berries. This personal touch was cherished in their milestone photos.

For Julian’s session, incorporating the blueberry theme without risking a choking hazard led to the delightful choice of a blueberry muffin. The joy and curiosity on Julian’s face as he discovered the muffin added a special charm to the photographs.

We even invited Emilia to join in on the fun because who doesn’t love blueberry muffins!

We made sure to update the family portraits during Julian’s milestone session. The all white theme continued, providing a timeless and cohesive look that will beautifully complement the photographs from their previous sessions.
