And Their Hearts Grew when Another Baby Girl Arrived. . .
Meet sweet, little Miss C. She was born with tons of dark, straight hair that tickled you when you held her. Sleeping so soundly when I arrived in her bassinet, and then so calm when she woke to spend time with everyone. She knew her parents had done this before.
The best part of working with this family though was seeing how loving and real they all were as a family.
Mom and Dad weren’t above letting the older kids use Ipads so that they stayed occupied while baby sister was being photographed. My favorite tactic of the morning (which I have used myself, as most great parents will at some point) is that that they promised ring pops to everyone that did a good job during the photography session. And wouldn’t you know, the entire family knocked it out of the park!
So often those early days of bringing a newborn home can be filled with short-tempers due to lack of sleep, jealousy from siblings over the attention the new baby is getting, and even a touch of fear that you are doing everything right and that your new baby is doing well. This family overcame all of that and was living as if their new baby sister had always been there. Both big sister and brother were eager to hold their new baby and give cuddles to Mom.
Dad couldn’t have been more proud of his new little girl. And Mom was over the moon as she and her entire family cuddled together in a quiet moment. It’s sessions like these that make me love my job, and make me remember these same moments that I shared with my own family. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the life of this new family of five, and you decide that this summer you are going to have special photographs of your family taken as well. Just send me a quick email, and we can chat about it.
