We had twins!
You know that feeling when you first lie down at night in your bed? That “oh, my goodness, this is wonderful” feeling because you know that in a few minutes you will be drifting off into a much-needed rest? Well, after spending several hours with this set of boy and girl newborn twins, I needed that rest more than ever. Don’t get me wrong, these two newborn babies were absolutely perfect for their entire session. But as any parent of twins will tell you, they really can be double the work. We started their session by getting their 2-year-old big brother in on the action. He was so great with his little brother and sister, but just like most toddlers, he was only really interested in me for about 20 minutes. But that was more than enough time to capture this beautiful image. Check out big brother’s gorgeous eyes!Once Daddy took big brother downstairs to play, the babies’ momma and I got straight to work. This little man was so sleepy and happy to let me guide him into every position. Momma spent most of the session trading babies with me. She would nurse while I would work with whoever was sleeping.Or not sleeping! Sister was very alert for a good part of her time with me, so we just rolled with it. I loved her perfect lips and adorable eyes. Here’s brother again, so peaceful. We kept the room really warm and he was more than happy to enjoy some “diaper free” time.Momma’s milk finally lulled baby sister to sleep. She was very aware of every touch though, so we just loosely wrapped her and captured her just the way she was on that day.By the end of their session, I had a new appreciation for all of those parents of twins out there. I know I have four kids, but they all came one at a time! I’m sure this family appreciates that blissful “first lie down” feeling every single chance they get.
