Edgy Maternity Photos

This was such a unique maternity shoot for SO many different reasons. To start, this session was done during quarantine. But don’t worry! We held the session outside, which our state allows, and we practiced social distancing. I even wore my mask to be extra safe. And to end with, I really wanted to create amazing photographs that really spoke to this couple’s edgy style.

Mom and Dad were gifted their maternity session and an upcoming newborn session with me. What a fantastic gift?! Such a cool idea to break out of the “normal baby shower gift idea” box! Mom and Dad so excited about their baby girl arriving any day now. The way Dad looked after Mom the whole time making sure she was comfortable or needed to take a break was so sweet to watch! I know he will dote on his baby girl in the same way! 

Since we needed to have an outdoor photography session, and we wanted it to match their outgoing personalities, we decided that the location should be at a stunning wooded waterfall nearby! They loved the idea of taking some photographs right by the edge of the water.  Mom was absolutely fearless climbing up the rocks with the help of Dad! She was bound and determined to get a photo of the waterfall in the background with the train of her dressing flowing down below her. She picked such a gorgeous dress for this shot too. The maroon flowing gown looks stunning on her! 
I was so glad we were able to make this session happy for this sweet couple! Although it was, quite literally, off the beaten path, it fit this couple perfectly!
