Cute and Cuddly: A Family Newborn Photoshoot with Their Dog ~ Cole

One part of newborn photography that never stops amazing me is just how much of a child’s personality is already there in their first days. That may have been truer for little Cole than any newborn I’ve ever met!

For most of the session, while we were taking Cole’s solo portraits, he was the sweetest and most peaceful little guy. He gave us ample opportunities to get all the beautiful sleepy photos we could want. We even captured one of his incredibly little mid-dream grins, and it’s a portrait that I know Mom and Dad will forever treasure. The picture of Cole with a tiny football is especially precious for Dad because it is so like a photograph that he had himself when he was a baby, so it’s exciting to watch the family legacy continue.

As soon as it was time to bring in Mom and Dad for the photos of the whole family, though, Cole came out of his shell and got the party started! He was full of joy and goofy smiles galore, and we couldn’t help but laugh at what a huge personality he has as such a tiny little guy. I can’t wait to see how he grows into that personality even more as he gets older, and I know Mom and Dad will be thrilled to look back on his newborn portraits and see those first hints of their fun-loving little boy.

One of the most important portraits we wanted to get for this family is a sibling photo of Cole with his fur-sibling, the family’s beloved pup. I can already tell that these two will be best friends as Cole grows up!
