Family Photos by the Lake ~ Bristol CT ~ Baby Photographer
“Oh, my gosh. He never sleeps, and now that we are ready to get his pictures taken, it’s nap time!” Mom told me. Today, the whole family, including the big sister who had come home for the weekend from college, had dressed and come down to Cedar Lake for beautiful fall photographs. The occasion was that baby brother had just turned 6-months old. So what do you do when the star of the show passes out? You roll with it!
To show you just how much this little cherub has grown, and how much he has stayed the same, I’ve put his newborn and 6-month profile photographs side by side.
Big brother was happy to join his little brother for a quick shot, with a bit of persuasion.
And while Mom was helping their youngest to get a few zzz’s, Dad and his little man took a moment to enjoy New England in all of her glory.
I’m sure Mom has been in this exact position a billion times, but getting to see yourself in it from the outside is a treat. Her little boy waits for the weekends that he has with her to catch up on his naps, feeling so safe and loved in him mother’s arms.
The little chap did eventually wake up and join in on all of the fun. Dad and his boys by the lake he grew up playing in and that they will now grow up next to as well.
Getting a good portrait of a 4-year-old is like winning the lottery, on a warm day, in January. Yeah, that difficult. But tada! This little dude is going to break a ton of hearts when he gets older.
This is one of few photos that Mom got with her baby in a happy moment. You see all he wanted when he was in her arms was to either be eating or asleep. But Moms know the best ways to coax smiles from their babies, and here she worked her magic.
Remember that I mentioned big sister had come up from college for the weekend? Well, here she is with her Dad by the lake. She is a real beauty.
This is the first photograph these two have been in just together since their wedding day. But I find this is true for most families! So I always try to get Mom and Dad to pose for a quick photograph with just the two of them. I guarantee this is an image their children will cherish for years to come.
And the piece de resistance. . . the family photo with everyone looking and smiling at the same time! Who knew you could hit the lottery twice in one hour? Of course, I did find 2 four leafed clovers within a span of 5 minutes before, but that’s another story.
In the end, everything went fine. We took a lot of breaks for the kids to play and rest, but at the end of our 90 minutes together, I captured a snapshot of their lives as they are right now. They will always be able to look back to when their littlest man was 6 months old and remember the fun and unpredictable life they were living together as one big, happy family.
