Newborn Photos Smiling

Every newborn photo session is somewhat unpredictable because newborn babies are unpredictable. Some will sleep through their entire session and never realize they left their homes. Others know that something interesting is happening and they try to stay awake to be part of the action, while some are discovering at an early age that they don’t like taking photos and they want to let us know. So when I work with a baby who’s an absolute dream like Honest, it makes the photo session that much more fun.

As sleepy as he was throughout his session, Honest has the most adorable little smile that I can’t get enough of, and he was more than willing to flash it for the camera a few times. Even when he didn’t have that amazing grin, this content little guy was happy to let us put him in any pose we chose, which allowed for a fantastic gallery of newborn photos.

I shouldn’t be surprised by how agreeable and sweet Honest is, because I’d had the pleasure of meeting his parents before, and they’re a true delight. Mom gets even more beautiful, inside and out, every time I see her!

Honest’s proud dad is a firefighter, and it was important to Mom that we honored this in the portraits. The precious photos of Honest in his dad’s fire helmet and on a firetruck background are some of my favorites, and I hope little Honest will always be able to look back at them and see that bond he had with his dad from his first days.
