Newborn Posing Behind-the-Scenes
Most newborn photographers decide to focus on that niche of photography because they just adore working with newborns and their families. I’m that way. I could photograph new babies for hours and never realize how tiring it is until I fall in bed that night. So when my good friend Danielle from Danielle Marie Photography told me that she was going to be doing the newborn photos of a friend of both of ours, I immediately asked if I could help. Actually, I asked if I could come over and play too! Danielle set everything up and was ready to go when I arrived. However, our little model was more interested in his surroundings than in going to sleep. So we gave him some time to get tired and fed. Then I got to wrap the little man and shush him into sleep.
Now the hard part. Posing him, while keeping him asleep, so we could get those dreamy baby shots that make everyone say AWWWW. Our little dude was already over a month old so he wasn’t going to go into some of the more curly poses, but we were able to curl him up on his back, side and in the bum-up pose on his tummy. With a blowing space heater, some white noise and my warm hands, he just melted into sleep and had us all mezmerized by how adorable he was. Danielle was able to get tons of images and Momma was over the moon happy with how everything turned out.
Danielle also took a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos for me so that I could show you how I work when posing a newborn. I’m hoping to put together a quick video of one of my newborn sessions really soon as well, so stay tuned!
