I had the great fortune of meeting this beautiful family before they welcomed little Kian into the world. I photographed Mom’s maternity photo shoot, and between the colorful fall scenery, Mom and Dad’s absolute joy, and adorable big-sister-to-be Nia, we ended up with a gorgeous gallery.
Not long after the maternity session, baby Kian decided to make his grand appearance into the world, and I couldn’t wait to rejoin the family for his newborn session. It was clear from the moment our session began that Nia was in love with her new baby brother. She even helped to name him, and I think the fact that their names have such similar letters even strengthens their sibling bond.
I knew Mom and Dad were excited to add a little boy to their family, but I love how much their joy comes through in their family portraits. Kian is one lucky baby, and not just because he has all that amazing hair!
In newborn photography, newborn portraits are typically full of sleepy photos because many newborns nap throughout their entire session. Kian was a different story. He was so curious about everything going on and he wanted to be a part of it all. Thanks to how alert he was, we were blessed with plenty of adorably expressive photos, including a precious sibling portrait.
We also made sure to incorporate some fantastic composite photographs for Kian’s parents. He looks right at home surrounded by nautical gear and basketballs alike. These personalized photos topped off a gallery that truly honors baby Kian and his loving new family.
