Gabriel ~ Premie Newborn Photographer

Most of us have learned by now that life is full of surprises and sometimes things don’t go exactly as we planned—sometimes they go even better! These two parents missed out on their maternity/couple’s photography session because Baby Gabriel was born crazy early at 32 weeks and 3 days at only 3lbs 7 oz. Although Mom didn’t get the maternity photos she had hoped for, she got to meet her little man even sooner. Apparently, he was ready to explore the world, and this preemie gained weight like a champ. He was able to come to see me for his first photoshoot even a little before his actual due date. We got all the sleepy, snuggly poses and a few awake ones too—the best of both worlds!

About this sweet family

Gabriel has superheroes for parents; Dad is a firefighter and Mom is an RN. It’s easy to see that they both adore their handsome bundle of joy. They adorably nicknamed him Baby Wolf, so I created a few photographs of him as a little wolf that matched the rest of the natural, woody theme. He has just a hint of red hair to match his Dad’s and Mom’s hair, and the darker colors of the backdrop really highlighted his tiny features and light hair. I am obsessed with the photo of baby boy showing off his big blue eyes with green succulents around him—the colors are striking, and he looks so happy swaddled there in the natural surroundings!

Welcome home, little one! You are as precious as can be, and I loved photographing you.

Note: I want all families to have a chance to capture that very special newborn stage no matter the circumstances, so I maintain a sanitized environment that is safe for all babies to spend time in—it is safe to do photographs for premature babies as soon as their doctors release them to go home.
