Joseph & Jacob ~ Twin Newborn Boys Sports Pictures

When you find out you’re having a boy, you already know that you’ll be in for some fun rough-and-tumble energy. But when you find out you are having two baby boys, you better invest in some really good tennis shoes and get ready to move! 

These handsome Tatum boys are identical twins and were a complete surprise to their mom and dad! Once they found out they were having twins, I’m sure it was hard not to feel a little anxious and eager to meet them, but Mom was amazingly calm through it all and kept these boys in until her scheduled C-section date! I was so excited to meet them after doing their maternity session just a few months ago. When they arrived, they were so precious and tiny with perfectly squishy cheeks. I couldn’t wait to get these two in the studio.

The boys were wonderful throughout the shoot! I think having each other during most of it made them feel safe and secure. They instinctively search for each other even in their sleep. I loved capturing the boys turned in toward each other and snuggling in close. It really conveys their twin bond (although we got a few individual shots of each boy, too – they still deserve their own unique photos!).

For backdrops, we went all out with sports themes! One of my favorites is the cute fishing theme with the boys snoozing on a little wooden raft and a line of fish above them. Dad is a huge sports fan – specifically the Red Sox and the NY Giants – so we incorporated his beloved teams and several of the sports he enjoys. These two cuties drifted off to dreamland for the majority of the shoot, but we did get a few glimpses of their bright eyes in a couple of the photos – too cute!
