Bright-Eyed Wonder in Wide Awake Newborn Photos ~ Sarayu

Every family has a different vision in mind for their newborn photos, and it’s my mission to create portraits that capture the family’s personalities and reflect the world that their sweet baby is joining. Getting wide awake newborn photos during a newborn and family photography session is always a bonus!

For some families, that vision involves a delicate and muted color palette, but other families prefer to highlight their baby with beautiful bold colors. Truth be told, there aren’t many studios that can offer colorful newborn photos near me, so I’m always thrilled when these families call me because it’s a fun opportunity to exercise my creativity.

That was certainly the case with baby Sarayu and her adoring parents. They love vibrant colors, and I was more than happy to make it happen. Pinks, purples, greens – you name it, it complemented little Sarayu’s cuteness! I can’t take my eyes off the portrait of Sarayu in the field of rich flowers.

Wide Awake Newborn Photos

Throughout her photo session, Sarayu was such a dream. While she gave us plenty of sleepy photos, she made sure we had a solid portfolio of wide-awake newborn photos too. Newborn photography can be tricky while a baby is awake because most will want to stretch and move about while they’re awake and may not want to be posed. Sarayu was the exact opposite. She was so calm while she was awake, allowing us to get all the lovely poses her parents wanted while just contentedly looking around at her surroundings. What an angel!

Sarayu’s session also brought another treat that I always love: grandparents! Mom’s parents were visiting to help care for their new granddaughter, so I was thrilled that they came along and were able to be in Sarayu’s first family portraits. I love knowing that this little girl will be able to look back on her newborn photos and see her grandparents and how much they have loved her from day one.
