A Family Full of Smiling Blondies ~ Avery & Owen

As much as I love working with babies, taking portraits of entire families with siblings is a joy all its own. It’s so much fun to watch how all the kiddos interact with each other and to see their personalities at play together. This adorable growing family is no exception.

I had the pleasure of taking newborn portraits for twins Avery and Owen, and from the jump, I could already see a hint of their personalities. Avery is a gleeful and ornery little girl, while her brother Owen has the old soul of a lovable little grump. When it came time for their one-year milestone photos, I couldn’t wait to see how those personalities had grown with them, and I wasn’t disappointed!

Avery is an energetic little basket of giggles, while Owen has a quiet spirit about him and throughout the session, he was only truly happy while he was on his mom’s hip. I was excited that we were able to get the twins into an outdoor session so they could enjoy the park while I captured candid photos that showcased exactly who they are.

While the session was planned around Avery and Owen’s first birthday, we wanted to get all the kids in the pictures, so this 1-year photoshoot became a “1-year-old twins with siblings” photoshoot. Big sisters Ella and Evie were such a delight to work with during the session, and they were incredibly helpful with their baby siblings.

Still, wrangling four kids is no small job, so the kids’ mom, their grandma, and I were all exhausted by the end of the session. In fact, I blended four different photos to finally get a great portrait with all four kids! Of course, it was all worth it to see how much this family loves their new photos.
