Benjamin ~ 1 Year Milestone Pictures with Cake Smash

One-year-old Benjamin is one of the happiest little explorers I have ever met! I’ve loved watching this handsome guy grow as I photographed his newborn and six-month photos, and then here he came waltzing into my studio as a big one-year-old! He was ready to get his party started and certainly wasn’t shy in front of the lens. It was such a pleasure making this little guy smile – he finds joy in everything, and his happiness is contagious!

Who doesn’t love cake, though?

I tried to get a few milestone portraits of Benjamin alone, but I had to be fast and furious as he wanted to explore and was on the move. As a man on a mission, he cruised around the studio, checking out everything. Finally, it was time for cake, and the expression on his face was priceless when we set in front of him. He seemed a little incredulous that we would put an entire cake in front of him. Worried that we might change our minds and take it away, he dug in with enthusiasm. I’m glad we used a plain backdrop because he had fun painting everything with blue frosting. The simple background with some confetti and balloons was perfect for Benjamin with his big personality. He was the star of the show!

It’s easy to see that this little one already has such a kind heart and is surrounded by love – he had no trouble sharing his cake and had a ball feeding it to Mom and Dad. I had just as much fun capturing it all. Thank you for giving me the honor of photographing this special milestone. Happy birthday, little guy! I can’t wait for your next shoot!
