Rory ~ Candid 1 year old Family Session

Having recurring clients (who have become real friends) is a family photographer’s dream. Being able to watch families grow through births, first steps, toddler stages, and more is such a joy and an honor. I love my job because it gives me the opportunity to meet new families who are venturing through parenthood and life just like me and mine. We all know how to appreciate the sweet moments and laugh through the tough ones because we’ve all been there! It’s so sweet to see little ones I photographed as newborns becoming helpful, loving big brothers and sisters. 

I have become true friends with this wonderful family so much that I love running into them around town and seeing them at other random opportunities. Abby’s smile lights up my heart, and Rory is quickly becoming the cutest little boy ever. Their session got postponed five weeks for various reasons, but it was all for the best because God blessed us with glorious tree blooms and a beautiful day.

I loved this session so much. I have been photographing this sweet family for several years now. It seems like just yesterday that I got to photograph their newborn daughter Abby. I’ve seen them every six months since then, and Abby is no longer that tiny baby but a beautiful little girl with a vibrant personality and the best big sister a guy could ask for. Their son Rory just turned one year old, and they scheduled this session to celebrate this milestone first year and take a few more family portraits. 

Now that their son Rory is growing up, our time will spread out a bit, and I won’t see them as often. Babies change so dramatically in just a few months, so we photograph them more often: the sitting milestone, walking milestone, first birthday, etc. But once our little ones become toddlers, we slow down to once a year. So, I may not get to see them quite as often in the future (at least not with my camera in hand), but that will make the times I do get to see them all the more special.
