Benjamin ~ Mommy and Me Session with a 6 month old baby

Too often as moms we exclude ourselves from the big moments. We are always on it when it comes to photographing our baby’s first steps, birthdays, and milestones – even just daily life – but we’re rarely in those photos. How many photos of playing kids do you have on your phone – with yourself in the picture, too? If you’re like me, probably not many because I’M always the one taking the picture. Or maybe my hair is a mess and I don’t have a trace of makeup on that day. But, when I look back at our photo albums, some of my favorite photos include me or the family as a whole. They represent the full story and bring back great memories. I honestly don’t even pay attention to what I was wearing that day. The experience is what mattered.

I offer Mommy & Me sessions because I know how precious those photos are. We love our kids SO much, and photos that demonstrate our bond are priceless. For this outdoor mini session, this lovely mama wanted to take photos to celebrate her first Mother’s Day as a mom. Benjamin is just 6 months old and handsome as can be. We actually did their session the day before Mother’s Day! I thought it was so sweet that Dad helped make this session happen by standing behind me and helping Benjamin smile. He was incredibly attentive and handed Mom things when she needed them; he clearly valued this session and the experience as much as she did. 

Mom is so in love with her little boy and had fun playing in the grass. It was such a peaceful, sunny day, and they two of them had fun just sitting by the pond together. Happy half birthday to this little guy, and happiest first Mother’s Day to this beautiful mom! What a wonderful session.
