Every parent knows what a whirlwind their kids’ early years are. Life suddenly becomes far busier than it was before, and as you’re flying through each day to keep up with an active baby, your child is growing and transforming before your eyes. Before you know it, they’re walking, talking, and heading off to preschool in the blink of an eye. It’s easy to forget to capture family photos in the midst of all those changes.

That’s exactly what happened with Annabelle’s family. Mom reached out to me because the family hasn’t had a chance to get new family photos in several years. Her sweet Annabelle is three years old now, and she’s in such a fun stage of her young life, full of curiosity and love for everything around her. Mom wanted to capture this wonderful time and preserve a glimpse of the fun that her family has together, and I was happy to help!

Playful Sunset Family Photo Session

With all this in mind, we decided to schedule their session for an open field at sunset and simply let them interact with each other in their natural, loving way. Mom and Dad were thrilled with how the photos turned out, and so was I! The glowing sun was a perfect mirror for the brightness and warmth that this family exudes, especially when they’re laughing together.

Annabelle was an absolute joy to work with. She has such a sweet smile and she’s a natural in front of the camera. It’s clear that she has a fantastic bond with her loving parents, and I can’t wait to see how the family’s relationship grows as she gets older. Ultimately, this is my favorite aspect of their session: the photos capture this young family simply playing and having a great time together, and it’s a wonderful memory they can treasure forever.
