Alianna ~ Bright & Colorful Newborn Portraits
Alianna was born almost ten weeks early and spent a long time in the NICU. When their little warrior was finally ready to go home, Mom tried getting a newborn session but didn’t have any luck. However, they had been through a lot, and she knew she absolutely had to have professional newborn photos to document her baby and capture the beauty of the newborn phase after all they had been through.
Alianna’s mom was determined to have her new baby photographed, and if you’re a mom, you know how strong a mother’s persistence can be. Somehow motherhood instantly transforms you into Superwoman – the kind who won’t rest until the mission is accomplished. We go to all kinds of great lengths and find pieces of ourselves we didn’t know existed in order to care for our babies! But she was almost at the end of her rope…
Mom took a chance and simply walked right into my portrait studio in Glastonbury, CT. I had just finished up a newborn session that morning and was almost done cleaning up and ready to leave. This determined mama walked in with her perfect little baby who was almost three months old by her official birthdate, but she was still tiny and sleepy like a newborn given her preemie status.
And wouldn’t you know, I had exactly one spot left on my calendar for a baby that month. So, we scheduled them for the next week, and Alianna did a fantastic job. Mom loves bright colors, so that was the theme we went with. She even had the entire family dress in the different colors we used during her session! The pink, blue, lavender and yellow colors looked so bright and cheerful, perfect to reflect their story of hope and strength.
When you look at these photos, you’ll understand why it was so hard for me to not just pick up baby Alianna and give her all the snuggles. She had the most perfect baby rolls, soft skin, and precious cheeks!
Alianna also has a big sister, Lurianny, who was the best helper around and had the sweetest smile. These girls lit up my studio with their smiles and beauty! I loved every minute of it.
I’m so glad God kept me in the studio a little longer that day so I could meet and work with this sweet family. They were wonderful to work with. Welcome to the world, baby Alianna! If you are looking to have newborn photos taken in Connecticut, contact me for all the details!
When considering if an older baby can still be photographed as a newborn, I don’t always look at their birthdate. I look at their due date. And if they aren’t more than a month past that date, we can definitely work together! Contact me to find out more.
