I’m grateful every day that I’m privileged enough to be a Connecticut maternity photographer. Not only do I have a passion for working with amazing growing families and helping them forever preserve the memories of the most special times in their lives, but I’m blessed to do all this in the gorgeous Northeast. Connecticut’s natural beauty is nothing short of stunning, and this creates a perfect backdrop for so many families’ photos. It’s like a ready-made photo studio, albeit without the climate control.

Outdoor Maternity Photography

This wonderful couple hasn’t lived in Connecticut long, but they’re already in love with the natural landscape of the area. They were excited to include the beauty of New England in their maternity portraits, so we opted for an outdoor session at a nature preserve with a gorgeous waterfall. The weather didn’t get the memo, so we had misting rain to contend with through the session. Still, the rich canopy of trees kept us mostly dry, and Mom must be a miracle worker because her hair looked perfect the entire time despite the rain.

On the plus side, the rain gave us bold clouds which made for some jaw-dropping dramatic outdoor maternity photos. Mom’s portrait in front of the cloud-covered lake, with her green gown flowing in the wind, is one of my favorites!

Even as we adjusted to the weather, Mom and Dad were a joy to work with throughout their session. They’re incredibly sweet and are absolutely thrilled to be expecting a baby girl! In their portraits together, as beautiful as the natural background is, their loving smiles draw in my eyes so much that I hardly notice anything else.
