Ziggy ~ Dramatic Maternity and Newborn Session
Oh how I loved working with Ziggy and his parents! This family was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed putting our creative minds together to make their visions come true. Holly called me in the middle of the pandemic shutdown so we had to do her consultation through zoom. Although it wasn’t in person, we were able to come up with plans that came alive when we were finally able to meet. She wanted to do both maternity and newborn for her growing family. I love being able to watch a family grow, especially from maternity to newborn, because you are able to capture the excitement of expecting and then follow up with the thrill of being new parents. It’s a really cool experience for everyone involved!
Holly wanted very dramatic maternity photographs so we opted for the studio and came up with several gorgeous images for her and her husband. I loved how loving and intimate the photos turned out. Both of them looked so elegant and beautiful throughout the entire session. I had a hard time picking out just a few, because all of the photos were stunning. Mom wore a few outfits that showed off her baby bump perfectly. I loved the flowy dress that brought out a lot of movement and texture in the photos. Dad wore an Indian outfit that represented his culture. They looked so happy to welcome their son into their family.
For Ziggy, we decided to represent both his Indian culture and mom’s desire for a stars and moons theme. Mom, dad, and I loved the turnout of the photos. We had a lot of fun putting together props and ideas to make his newborn session the best it could be. We even had Ziggy look like he was being held up by an elephant – super fun! Ziggy did a great job. He was so calm and sleepy, which made it easy to put him in different poses to get the best photos. We placed Ziggy on Dad’s shoulder, where you can see the long name tattooed. That is Ziggy’s full name which is also his Paternal grandfather’s name so that photo is extra special to Dad. All in all, this session was a blast. I am so happy to have worked with these three. Congrats to these new parents, and welcome, Ziggy!
