Aaliyah ~ An Edgy Newborn Session

Meet Aaliyah, a new little one that just got welcomed into this world by her eager and loving parents. Aaliyah’s parents came to me first for their maternity session, and then to get their baby girl photographed. It was so good seeing them again, and even better this time because they had their new baby with them. It’s always fun to capture the growth of a family. I am so happy to document moments like these. Mom and dad wanted to capture Aaliyah’s newness and the love that they all share. I think we did just that. It is so apparent in the photos that Aaliyah is the light of these two’s lives. 

One thing I love about newborn sessions is adding a personal touch or memory that will be cherished for many years. Aaliyah’s grandmother gifted her some dolls, so we decided to recreate the dolls in the session. This little one looked precious in the bonnet and surrounded by flowers. When I asked her parents what their vision was in terms of the session, Mom and Dad mentioned that they loved more dramatic photos, so we went deep and moody for their family images. These turned out fantastic, and everyone loved the outcome! I was even able to capture a little smile from Aaliyah.

All in all, I had a wonderful time working with this family for the second time. I wish only the most happiness for these two during this new chapter in their lives. Aaliyah is so lucky to have such passionate and loving parents.
