Adelyn ~ Family Photos With Newborn

What makes my heart happier as one of Connecticut’s best newborn photographers than shooting a newborn session? Doing a TWO-part newborn session…with family! After her arrival, baby Adelyn’s parents wanted to get a few newborn photos highlighting just Adelyn by herself. So, I first met this cute-as-a-button baby when she was just twenty days old. Then, a couple weeks later, we did Part II with the family in order to include everyone in the portraits.

I know this session was extra special for this family – we weren’t able to do newborn photos for big brother Jackson since he was arrived so early – so I was extremely excited to do these first family portraits for them.

All About this Session

Mom and Dad picked out beautiful colors. For Adelyn’s customized shoot, we used lots of pale colors and florals. I just love the photo of her wrapped in a peach and teal swaddling blanket with matching headband. Her hands are folded so sweetly, highlighting those precious newborn fingers, and she’s slumbering soundly on her soft white cloud. She was the perfect little model and went right along with every pose.

Since I don’t normally do newborn sessions in two parts, it was amazing to see how fast babies grow in those first couple months. Even just from almost-3 weeks to 5.5 weeks, Adelyn’s little pillow cheeks became a little plumper, and she was already able to keep her eyes open for a few of the shots. (The picture of her big brother holding wide-eyed Adelyn melts my heart!) Although I know the 2-session shoot wasn’t exactly what they had planned, what a special way to do newborn photos. Mom and Dad can look back and remember how quickly their little girl grew during the first blissful yet whirlwind weeks, and that’s certainly a special memoir to have! Welcome, little one! Can’t wait to watch you grow.
