Madelyn ~ CT Newborn Photographer | Rocky Hill, CT
The timing couldn’t have been better for this family. Madelyn’s mom contacted me about newborn photography a little more than a month before she was due to see if I could photograph her soon-to-arrive newborn daughter. And literally the morning that we firmed everything up, her water broke and Madelyn was on her way. She was a little over 3 weeks early but fully “baked” and arrived absolutely perfect!
Her big brother was the cutest little man and made sure to stay close to me (with his Nana in tow) as I set everything up for his sister’s session. You would never have guessed he was only two-and-a half years old because he was so content to watch everything and participate as soon as he was asked.
Madelyn’s room was all decked out in shades of coral, ivory and gold (it was so beautiful), so this rich coral was just perfect for her session. She’s a gorgeous newborn ballerina.
Mom couldn’t have been more beautiful and when we placed little Madelyn in her arms, she smiled to let us all know this was her favorite place to be.
This adorable close-up photograph of Madelyn is now hanging in her living room alongside the family portrait you will see below and another adorable photo of her brother. Those tiny fingers and gorgeous lips made me want to cuddle her all day long.
We had to do a few takes when it came time to Dad’s turn for newborn photographs with his new daughter. Madelyn kept trying to “christen” him. But he was very quick on his feet, both times, and we only had to clean up the floor. It’s always a “danger” when you pose a naked baby with the parents, but this touching image made it all worth it.
It always amazes me how tiny newborns become when you swaddle them up like they were when they were still tucked inside the womb. Madelyn couldn’t have been more content.
This beautiful, first family portrait is decorating their family room and will always remind them of when their little family grew, by a sister. Such a special time in their lives.
I got to visit Madelyn a second time when I went to hang the family’s beautiful new artwork in their home. She had grown so much in a few short weeks, so I’m glad I was able to create these heirloom photographs for her family. Now, each year on her birthday or whenever they are feeling nostalgic, they can look back at her newborn photographs to see just how small she once was.
If you would like to have your newborn photographed along with your family, contact me today. I am currently taking limited bookings from October – December of 2017.
