A Military Maternity Session Just in Time

I have been helping growing families commemorate the special times in their lives with maternity photo sessions for many years, and I have found that there is a specific point in the pregnancy that is the ideal time for maternity portraits. We want to be far enough into the pregnancy that the mom-to-be’s baby bump is well-developed and easily noticeable. At the same time, we don’t want to wait until we’re too close to the due date because we don’t want Mom to be uncomfortable during her session, and we don’t want to risk missing the session entirely because the baby decided to make an early appearance.

For this military maternity session, we scheduled the photos for a bit earlier in the pregnancy than usual, but it was for a very special reason. Dad was due to be deployed soon for military service soon, and it was important to Mom that Dad was included in the session. This was especially crucial because Dad wasn’t expected to be home before the baby was born, so he wouldn’t be able to join us for the newborn photo session.

Even with the earlier timing, Mom looked absolutely stunning and we were able to create gorgeous maternity photos to help them always remember the beginning of their family. The beautiful white gown truly brought home Mom’s elegance and beauty, adding to her classic pregnancy glow. We made sure to include some photos with Dad in his uniform as well so his baby girl always knows that her Daddy is a hero.
