Kalina ~ Outdoorsy Newborn Photos for a Baby Girl’s Fairytale

Some of my clients expect that after spending so many years taking newborn photos, I would have reached a point when they all seem the same. Actually, the truth is the opposite! The longer I do this job/passion project/artwork, the more I’ve found that every family is truly unique. As a newborn photographer in CT, finding ways to incorporate my clients’ loves into their photos is a challenge I cherish with every session.

In this case, Mom and Dad both had clear ideas of what they wanted for their little girl Kalina’s newborn portraits. Dad, for one, is all about the outdoors (no bows for this little girl, as he put it!). He’s so excited to share this passion with his daughter, so he wanted to highlight the great outdoors in her newborn photos.

Mom, on the other hand, loves a particular aspect of the fairytale motif – not castles and princess gowns but ethereal and mystic backgrounds like beds of flowers, mossy forests, candlesticks, libraries of treasured old books – you get the picture.

Fortunately for me as a newborn photographer in CT, I’m in an area full of gorgeous outdoor settings and scenes that look straight out of a fairytale. I had so much fun creating sets and backgrounds to give Mom and Dad the special aesthetic that would make their daughter’s portraits truly personalized.

It turned out that baby Kalina had almost as much fun as I did! She was full of smiles during her session, and those sweet grins on her face as she slept are incredibly precious. From their own smiles and the way they cared for their little girl, Mom and Dad are clearly in love with baby Kalina, and I can’t wait to see how she grows up to share their passions.
