Newborn Photos for a Girl and Her Dog

There’s something incredibly touching about seeing a little girl with her big brother. It’s always sweet to see how he protects her and cares for her, acting like another father from the moment she’s born. I had the great fortune of capturing this sweet bond during Eliana’s newborn session, with one catch: her big brother happened to have four legs and a lot of fur!

Eliana’s fur-brother Bandit and her parents were all excited to welcome her to the family, so they wanted to capture this special time with the help of a newborn photography studio. I’m so glad they chose me because the entire family was a delight to work with.

Delicate Femininity

Mom wanted to honor her little girl with classic photos and delicate femininity, and it was a beautiful choice. We chose gentle pinks and tiny flowers for many of Eliana’s portraits, and I’m particularly in love with her photo in a fluffy tutu.

Eliana wanted to be present during the session so badly, and she fought sleep for the longest time. While we snapped plenty of great photos with her eyes open, we were glad when she finally slipped into a nap so we could get adorable sleepy photos too. We even managed to get a close-up of the absolute sweetest baby smile, and it was an instant favorite.

It was such a joy to watch Mom and Dad with their new little one throughout the session. They look like such a natural family in their portraits together, and I’m honored to have been able to help them celebrate this special time.
