Old Masters Inspired Maternity Shoot
This sweet mom to be and her hubby came in right before we were thrown into the wild world of quarantine. Unfortunately, hubby had not been able to get a haircut before everything shut down, so he wasn’t loving his style but still looks great! Mom really wanted some classic maternity photographs that would stand the test of time, so we put our heads together and came up with an Old Masters inspired maternity shoot. In essence, we would be creating very classic photographs that were inspired by works of art that you would find in a museum. I have never done a maternity shoot quite like this, so I was excited about the challenge and opportunity!
We started out with her in a champagne colored lace gown that is just absolutely stunning! With her rich, dark hair, she looked positively radiant! We took some lovely photos of her holding her belly and brought dad to be in the shot to grab some pictures with her too. One of the reasons she picked this gown was because of how drapey and flowy it was with silk bell sleeves and a silk train. She loved taking the pictures of the dress flowing in out all around her, and I loved how it turned out! Breathtaking!
It was time for a quick break and a wardrobe change! It was no surprise that Mom chose the next dress because it had some of the same gorgeous flowing sleeves and train; however, this time, it was in a rich wine color. We got some more classic poses with a gorgeous faded floral backdrop this time. I absolutely love the picture of her lounging on the ground, hand on her belly, with her eyes closed. She just looks so serene: happy and at peace.
