And Just Like That, He’s a Big Boy Now ~ CT Baby Photography
How time flies! I feel like I just met this little tike yesterday when I photographed him as a newborn. And here he is walking!
Photographing babies is one of the best jobs in the world because I get to enjoy all of the special moments, like sitting up, walking and first birthdays. And just like Grandma, I get to pass on the not-so-fun parts of babyhood, like dirty diapers, sleepless nights and inconsolable moments.
Well, this great afternoon was a huge mixture of all of those things, and I had so much fun capturing it all for this family.Still a little wobbly on his feet, this one-year-old boy was happy to try and walk over to his big sister. Not wanting to miss out on the fun, Mom and Dad joined in with a flying session for both of their little ones. No need to go to they gym today, let me tell you. I had them do this about 6 times!Imagine how much fun it must be for everything to be new and exciting. This slide made both of the kids eyes light up when Dad suggested they go for a ride. Not easy to focus on a moving baby that is flying directly towards you, but a happy toddler will go through the motions again and again as long as there is speed involved. Big sister has the most amazing eyes, and a killer personality to boot. She already commands the room and is going to be a force to be reckoned with when she grows up. But no one could resist this beautiful face. Doesn’t he look like such a little man here! He was such a good sport because the temperature was seriously dropping while we were outside. Someday their parents are going to pull out this photo to remind them just how much they love each other. In fact, they should just frame it and hang it on the wall now. Then they could do their time out’s in front of it (which will hopefully be far and few between). The first game of “chicken” underway, and so sweet! Brother wasn’t so sure about this, but his sister was happy to help him feel secure. I just loved this moment. After standing for a bit, he needed to take a break. So he just squatted down and hung out. Totally content to watch the world this way.We even tried to give him a “1st birthday cake smash”! And. . . you see how it went. Honestly, baby cake smashes often go this way because most babies just don’t like having gooey icing all over them. We need to change this tradition to 1st birthday lollipop crunches with a huge rainbow colored lollipop or another fun activity that doesn’t invoke tears. Finally, Dad and his son took a quick walk to pick up their spirits and all way right with the world again!
