Springtime One-Year Portraits ~ Kayden

A year may feel like such a short time for adults because our lives usually don’t change much from one year to the next. I’m always amazed, though, by how much babies change in their first year of life, especially when it comes to clients that I only see at their newborn portraits and their one-year photos. With all these changes, it’s no surprise that parents so often want family pictures when their babies turn one year old, because their family looks so different than it did a year ago. That’s why this family came back to see me for their baby’s Springtime One Year Photos.

Little Kayden’s mom was excited to update their family photos during Kayden’s first birthday session to capture just how big he had gotten in a year. Because we were planning their session for the spring, we did their session at a local park, and I can’t get over how bright and gorgeous the sunny colors were. The springtime landscape was the perfect complement to this joyful and sunny family!

Kayden has such an adorable personality at just one year old! He gave us plenty of smiles and giggles throughout his springtime one year photos, and I was so happy to be able to capture wonderful smiles from the entire family. Kayden’s big sister Arya was an absolute delight throughout the session too, always ready to flash her shy but incredibly sweet smile.

When I’m planning a photo session with a client, we always talk about how they want to use their finished portraits so we can make sure to get photos that fit their desired use. In this case, Mom was already on top of it! She had several frames in the family’s home that she wanted to fill, so she came equipped with great ideas for the types of photos she wanted. I’m so glad we were able to add an updated personal touch to their home!
