Waterfall and Lake Maternity Photos

I just cannot say enough about this couple. Ashley and Jake are two of my favorite people! I first met them when I photographed their daughter, Lyra, as a newborn. I then got to see them again when Lyra turned a year old. They are just so fun and loving. They are a joy to spend time with, and you always leave feeling great.

Mom didn’t do a maternity session for her first child, Lyra, so she thought-it’s now or never! So we ordered her a gorgeous gown to match her stunning blue eyes and picked an amazing location with a waterfall and a beautiful lake. It was time to put on my hiking flipflops!

Did I mention the stunning location? Get a load of that glassy water and those remarkable trees. The water is so clear that it just mirrors the beautiful landscape. But that’s just the background. How beautiful does Mom look in her gown? She looks so at one with nature. I cannot get over how elegant she looks with her gown blowing behind her in the wind. So lovely! 

It was so fun getting to take pictures of the whole family too. Lyra even gave us a few smiles for the camera! It might have been her excitement about the rushing waterfall though. Either way, it made for some great family photos. 

They really enjoy getting creative with their newborn sessions, so when they found out they were having a baby boy, they contacted me to get brainstorming about what we would do for the little guy’s newborn photoshoot. We’ve got some fun things planned, so I’m looking forward to having him in the studio! Our time together during the shoot was yet another great experience with them. I’m so happy for this family, and I can’t wait to meet their new addition.
