Lavender Newborn Session
Isabelle was born almost six weeks premature. She weighed in at only 3lbs 15oz, but she was all of 19 inches long. She spent her first several weeks in the NICU. At six weeks old, they came to see me for her newborn photo shoot; however, that was still two days before her scheduled due date!
As if we needed anything else to know that Isabelle was a very unique baby, she also happened to be a unicorn baby. That’s what we photographers call babies that are super easy to work with, never fussing at all, and doing everything that is asked of her. She was an absolute dream to work with.
Speaking of dreaming, doesn’t Isabelle look like she is having the most serene of dreams in her newborn photos? Her sweet face just has such a peaceful look. Of course, the lavender theme helps with that. Mom loves the color purple, and she has decorated their home in all different shades of grey and purple. So, we carried that through her newborn session as well. Not only will that look great with their established decor back home, but these hues are so feminine. I especially love the garland of lavender that encircles Isabelle snuggled in a lovely swaddle and laying on the plushest of beds. She looks just like a doll in the photo with her lavender dress, dainty floral headband, and a stunning bouquet that added the perfect touch of whimsy.
Dad couldn’t come to the newborn session, so the family ended up coming back a week later, so we could finish with her family portraits. And Isabelle was completely perfect again and just happy to go along for the ride. We were done in just 25 minutes! It was such a pleasure capturing such sweet photographs for this little family as they welcome their precious little bundle of joy.
Babies that spend a long time in the NICU often forgo getting newborn photographs because they are told their baby is too old now. NOT TRUE! I base your baby’s session off of her due date so many NICU babies get gorgeous pictures once they are released from the hospital. Contact me today to find out more.
