Wrapped Newborn Photos CT ~ Lorelai

Many people believe that babies don’t start developing their personalities until they’ve grown a bit beyond the newborn stage, but from my experience as a newborn photographer, young babies have much more distinctive personalities than we give them credit for! They all have their likes and dislikes, and many babies are happy to let you know what those are. Part of the fun challenge of each newborn session is getting to know each baby and finding the best ways to make them comfortable so we get the beautiful portraits for their parents to treasure. For this little girl, happiness came when we created wrapped newborn photos.

With baby Lorelai, I quickly discovered that she loved being swaddled! This isn’t uncommon, because wraps provide a security and warmth that many babies enjoy, especially at this newborn stage before they’ve stretched out in the way babies do after a few months. While this meant that we weren’t able to get any naked portraits that her parents were hoping for, baby Lorelai’s swaddled newborn pictures turned out beautifully.

On the day of their newborn session, it was clear to me that Mom and Dad were in absolute awe of their baby girl. From the moment they arrived at my studio, I could see how much they adored her by the way they soothed her and interacted with her, and I cherished the opportunity to spend time with this incredibly sweet family.

Lorelai had a touch of colic at this stage, which is always a potential hurdle for newborn photographers (and parents!), but throughout our session, she was very calm and easygoing. Maybe she has a future in front of the camera!

During Lorelai’s session, I was able to capture a variety of beautiful wrapped newborn photos of little Lorelai on her own and with her loving parents. We embraced Lorelai’s girly side with plenty of pink palettes and floral sets, all of which fit Lorelai’s peaceful nature so well.
