Creative Newborn Composite Just for You

 

A short while ago, a family that I was going to photographed mentioned that Mom played the saxophone and Dad played the trumpet. In fact, Dad was the Band Director at a local High School. So I tried to come up with a creative image that could include not only their newborn baby but also their interests. And I came up with nothing. All I could find for inspiration was babies laid on guitars or inside of music cases and that just wasn’t my style. What I needed to do was come up with a creative newborn composite image.

But that desire to do something different stuck with me and I came upon some work that a photographer out of Ireland had created using compositing. This is the practice of taking many different photographs and blending them together. It’s a laborious process that includes perspective changes, color painting and a blending of shadows that can drive you insane. But when you come up for air and have something that you love, it’s all worth it.

So this past Sunday, I sat down at my computer with the need to create. And after several hours (which included tons of starting and stopping to care for my kids), I had this little gem on my screen. I absolutely can’t wait to have it printed!
