What a Difference 6 Months Makes . . .

What a Difference 6 Months Makes . . .

comparing a baby's growth by showing a similar photo taken 6 months apart in the cribOne of the most rewarding things about my job is getting to photograph a baby and her family as she grows. As you can see, the growth that happens in just 6 months is absolutely amazing! Taken just a little over a week after her birth, the first image shows a bright-eyed and alert newborn baby. The second image is the beginning of this 6-month-old baby girl’s pictures. 6 month old baby playing with her parents in her nurseryThis little cherub was so interested in me for the first 30 minutes of our time together that she constantly watched me wherever I was. Even bouncing on her Mommy’s tummy and laughter coming from her Daddy didn’t sway her focus.6 month old baby lying on her tummy playing peek a boo on a cream backgroundThere is just something about playing with a blanket that makes the cutest pictures. Blankets frame the face and help focus our eyes on what is most important in the picture. . . the cute little baby peeking out from underneath.6 month old baby sitting with Daddy in the rocking chair sharing a book, some kisses and playing with her feetEvery night cutie pie here is read to and rocked to sleep by her Daddy. He couldn’t resist sneaking in a few kisses since we weren’t actually trying to get her to sleep. As he read her a favorite book of theirs, I couldn’t help but recite it along from memory (like I’m sure so many of you could as well.)6 month old baby resting on her tummy with her arm under her headWe had a little playtime on Mommy and Daddy’s bed too, which must have been exhausting because she just plopped down and rested for me in this position. Daddy, Mommy and 6 month old baby cuddled on the parents bed for some tickle timeA good tickle finally brought out the silly side in this little sweetie and she blew us all some raspberries.6 month old baby sitting in a rustic tin tub on a cream backgroundThis simple set up with a wash basin on a cream background gave us the most adorable portrait of their little girl. She looks like she is about to crack a smile here.Mother holding her 6 month old baby over her shoulder smiling down on herHanging out with Momma is a luxury that we all need to remember. Momma just went back to work, so it’s times like these that they will both cherish so much more now that they aren’t constantly available. 6 month old baby sitting up holding a block on a cream backgroundAfter pushing up, comes sitting up. Not quite there yet, we managed to snap a quick portrait of this baby girl sitting up with Mom ready on the sidelines before a tumble could happen.

This session was very cute and means so much more when you compare just how little baby girl here was just 6 months ago.
