I’ve seen so many budding families who are excited for the arrival of a new family member, but there’s something special about the excitement any parent-to-be has when their first child is on the way. They know that their lives are about to change in the most beautiful way, and from the moment I met this sweet Mom and Dad, I could see that they were so ready to welcome those changes.

I worked with Mom and Dad a few weeks before Isla was born for their maternity photo session. It was clear from that day that they were anxiously awaiting their baby’s arrival, so it was no surprise to hear Mom’s excitement when Isla was finally born and she reached out to schedule her newborn session. I couldn’t help but match her joy!

Mom and Dad love the cool color pallet of lavender and teal, and it speaks to their sweet and gentle personalities. It was the perfect fit for Isla’s photos, so I focused on super classic images with these calm colors woven in throughout. Isla was so sleepy and precious during the session, and the mellow colors matched her precious face so well!

When we finished their photos, Mom was so kind and told me how much she loved the experience of our sessions as well as the finished photos, and I was so touched to hear that I had helped to make this special time in her family’s life even more memorable. Truthfully, I think I was the lucky one because I had the privilege of working with this beautiful new family!
