Blue Newborn Photoshoot

Blue may have been a beautiful color for this family’s photoshoot with their new baby boy, but it certainly didn’t describe their mood during this fun occasion! I’d have a hard time finding anything better than watching the pure joy on a growing family’s face as they hold their precious new child.

Andrew is his parents’ first son, and they all look to be truly “at home” together already. The most important goal of this shoot for Mom and Dad was capturing the newness of their stunning baby boy, and Andrew did not disappoint. I’m in love with how tiny he looks in his photos, especially in the shots when he’s curled up in his very tall dad’s arms.

Hobby Newborn Portraits

Baby Andrew might have some big shoes to fill (literally), but clearly, Dad’s starting early to teach him all about his favorite hobby. While Dad works at the hospital, he’s a talented woodworker in his free time and he’s eager to take Andrew under his wing. In fact, he made the beautiful tool caddy that Andrew’s curled up in for one of his photos, and the tools surrounding the caddy are straight from Dad’s workshop as well.

As thrilled as Mom and Dad are will their new son, it’s hard to imagine that anyone could be more excited about a new baby as big sister Carleigh is about her brother. She may only be six, but she’s already taking on a responsible role as the big sis and she loved helping out in any way possible during the shoot. I may just have an apprentice on my hands in a few years!

All in all, though, my favorite part of working with this family was seeing how much they loved and treasured their photos. In fact, they opted for two large canvas prints to feature in their home, along with plenty of other special shots from the session.
