Lorenzo ~ Deluxe Newborn Session

Each new family addition brings a new dimension and unique joy to the family as a whole. The arrival of the second (or third or fourth) child is just as exciting as the first. As parents, we can’t wait to watch their little personalities unfold over the next few years and see how they will redefine the family as a whole. Siblings are so much fun to watch. I know that there can be quite a few squabbles, especially in those early years, but nothing compares to a sibling bond. They just seem to understand each other in ways that we can’t, and nothing brings us greater joy than watching them play together, listen to one another, and cheer each other on through childhood and beyond.

This is the second round of portraits for this dear family. It seems like big sister Natalie was just here for her newborn session in December 2017. When baby brother was on the way, they contacted me again. I couldn’t wait to see them and catch up. Of course, Natalie has grown so much since I last saw her as a sleepy-eyed newborn. We were able to schedule baby Lorenzo’s studio session when he was just seven days old, and Mom had tons of creative ideas she wanted to explore.

Dad is an avid sports fan so we created a few photographs for him and his son to bond over and cherish. Mom planned on decorating the nursery in a nautical theme so I ran with that. The “Welcome Aboard” life ring seemed so fitting as they are adding a new addition to their family journey. This ended up being one of my favorite photos as Lorenzo slept soundly in the little wooden crate lit by the warm glow of a miniature lantern. He was the cutest sailor I’ve ever seen!

Mom really wanted the whimsical froggy design, and she helped me coordinate it. We were so happy that Lorenzo went along with our plan, and it almost looks as if he’s smiling as he sleeps peacefully on a lily pad. I love how it turned out! The family also really wanted a photo of baby in Dad’s hands because we did a similar one for big sister Natalie.
