Watching families begin and grow is a special privilege that I enjoy with every session. When I have the opportunity to photograph a family multiple times and watch as they grow and change, though, it’s even better. That was the case with baby Parishka’s family, and I was thrilled when they called!

I first met them when we did newborn photos for Mom and Dad’s first daughter, Ninushka, about three years ago. I was so happy for them when I found out they’d now welcomed their second daughter, Parishka, and I couldn’t wait for our session.

Mom and Dad love color, so we played with plenty of colorful options for Parishka’s photos, from rich golds to sweet pinks and wildflower arrays, and even deep fall colors. One of the most special photos, though, was the one we took of Parishka on this gorgeous blue tapestry – the same one we photographed with Ninushka when she was born.

I always love incorporating family traditions like this into photos, but I was especially happy to do that in this case because this family is such an important part of Mom and Dad’s lives. When Ninushka was born, both of her doting sets of grandparents were there to help at every step of the way. Thanks to the pandemic, only one set of grandparents is able to be there during Parishka’s infancy, but Mom’s sister and her family have moved in to help. This family is so close and full of love for each other, and the girls are incredibly lucky to have such a supportive environment.

During this session, I loved watching both of these little girls with their huge personalities! Parishka gave us some amazing smiles during the session, and while Nunishka needed some convincing at first, we ended up capturing some beautiful sibling and family shots too.
