Growing Family Photographs

Some people just have a complete air of joy and fun around them, and that description fits Orson’s family to a T! This session to celebrate little Orson’s first birthday was practically a party!

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family since Mom and Dad welcomed their first child, Orson’s big sister Lyra. I first met them when we did Lyra’s newborn photos, and Mom and Dad were so kind that I was excited to reconnect with them for Lyra’s one-year photos. Then, when they reached out to me to tell me that Orson was on his way and to schedule a maternity session and his newborn photos, I was thrilled to hear that their precious family was growing.

That makes Orson’s one-year photos my fifth session with the family, and it’s been such a joy to watch them grow together. The kids are adorable and they have such cute personalities, and Mom and Dad are fun and playful as well. I can say for sure that this is one home that’s full of laughs and giggles!

Rustic Cake Smash Portraits

I loved the blue and khaki color scheme for the session, and we opted for a lineup of rustic props and pieces to complement their look. We finished up this indoor session with a cake smash, which is a must for a one-year-old’s birthday photos. We decided to make it a family affair, though, and Lyra had a great time getting in on the cake smash with her baby brother.

All throughout the session, it was a blessing to be able to watch the love and playfulness that this family has toward each other. It’s amazing to look back on my first photos with these lovely people to see how much they’ve grown as a family, and I can’t wait to keep capturing memories for them in the years to come.
