Harper ~ Baby Girl Newborn Pictures | Colchester, CT
When I first talked with Harper’s mom on the phone, she was ecstatic that I had a spot for them on my calendar. She had found my work in a portfolio book that was in the lobby of Lotus Yoga after a prenatal yoga class. “I finally found her!” was her comment to her husband because she had been looking for a newborn photographer that would fit their family perfectly. And, boy did we all work wonderfully together getting her baby girl’s newborn pictures.
Mom and Dad had really wanted to get Maternity photographs taken as well, and God aligned all of the stars so that I had a spot for them right away. Mom is 38 weeks pregnant in these photos.
Harper came just one day late, but in her own perfect timing, and was an absolute angel for her entire session. Dad sat back on the couch while we worked, and Mom took the opportunity to take a shower and get dressed for her and Harper’s photos later in the session.
Full of smiles, Harper was just happy to be snuggled up and having sweet dreams.
Daddy got a chance to have his time with Harper right as she was starting to wake up a bit. We caught this dreamy-eyed shot a few moments before Harper let us know that she needed a little refreshment and a diaper change.
Looking so much like her Daddy in this image, Harper was just resting peacefully and blowing us a few bubbles at the same time.
Momma got her images with Harper just minutes after Harper surprised us all with a very messy bottom. Lesson learned: if the baby is going to be wrapped anyway, keep the diaper on! We had to completely discard the other wraps and make due with different ones. But then, Harper was back to her completely serene self and made the sweetest pictures with her parents.
I think all of that prenatal yoga mom was doing really paid off and transferred to Harper as well. Looking quite happy in her own version of the lotus position.
Enjoying their baby girl during her newborn pictures, Mom and Dad are completely in love with her.
One of Mom’s favorite images of Miss Harper, the headband was one of many that were lovingly made just for her by loved ones that attended Mom’s baby shower. The tutu is part of the huge collection of baby props that I use to design sessions that perfectly fit my families style and desires for their photographs.
All of these images (except for the maternity photographs) were taken in Mom and Dad’s new home in Colchester. Having an in-home newborn photography session made things so much easier for this family since they could just kick back and not have to travel anywhere for their session.
