Last Minute Maternity Session | Glamorous Goddess

This lovely mother-to-be and her husband came to see me for a consultation when she was already 36 weeks along. They knew they wanted newborn photos of their first baby, a girl, but Mom wasn’t sure if she wanted to do maternity photos. 

Since I had several gowns for her to try on, she ended up loving the green one with the amazing train (one of my absolute favorites). Plus, it complemented her complexion and dark hair so beautifully, it was like it was designed just for her! 

So, we found the closest date possible and brought her into the studio. She was a complete natural, and within just forty minutes we were done! Once she saw the photos, she was so glad she had decided to go ahead and do the maternity session. Trust me, I know how unappealing glamor shots sound when you’re that far along, but I strive to make moms feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful during their maternity portrait session. 

We had a blast together during her short time in the studio, and I enjoyed giving her a few words or encouragement and sharing understanding laughs of pregnancy and motherhood.

Her healthy baby girl has since been born, and we are now just waiting for the “all clear” to return to work and photograph her baby.

Preserving Memories from your Pregnancy Journey

I’ve been there, and I know it feels impossible to forget nine long months of pregnancy at the time, but sure enough, life gets busy after that bundle of joy arrives. Somehow, the days of pregnancy quickly fade from our memory and are replaced with precious smiles and tiny toes. As a mother myself, I always encourage other women to take advantage of that time and embrace their pregnancy by documenting it with photography. It’s so worth it – as you can see with this radiant expecting mother.
