Seraphina ~ a Surprise Baby

This lovely couple has been together since they were fourteen years old! Their love story was so sweet to hear, and I couldn’t wait to get them in the studio for their gorgeous baby girl’s newborn session. They’ve been engaged for several years, but as we can all attest, life just got so busy and never seemed to slow down. They already enjoy their love and life together, so they weren’t in a rush to get to the alter.

Seraphina is born!

Knowing that they were going to get married eventually, they decided that they were ready to start a family. But it took almost a year and they were beginning to believe that they would need help. Then God surprised them and blessed them with a baby, and everything sped up. This will be an unforgettable year for sure with the birth of Seraphina and their wedding later this year. I am so happy for them!

They wanted the perfect name for their surprise bundle of joy, so they decided on her name the day before she arrived. Seraphina fits her so perfectly with her sweet face and graceful features. She may be a newborn, but she just looks so elegant and lovely. We used a lot of neutrals, lace, and soft pastels in her newborn session to complement her name and delicate features. She looked so serene as she slept soundly through all of the poses.

But not all of the portraits were so dainty. We got to change it up a little, too, to integrate their style. Dad plays the guitar in a band with his brother so we incorporated it into their session. Seraphina looks so much like her Daddy, but I’m sure she will end up favoring her gorgeous Mom when she grows up. 

I was so excited to see Seraphina open her gorgeous eyes just in the time for their first family portraits—this family of three is stunning together. I really love the closeness between them depicted in the profile shot holding Seraphina together in their arms with their heads resting on each other. Intimate family photos like this look especially amazing showcased in a master bedroom or enlarged canvases.

It was truly a pleasure to be able to capture these memoirs as they step out into the wonderful journey of parenthood together. Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
