Family Photos and Cake Smash in the Grass

Another one of my newborn babies! They’re all growing up so fast. I remember Connor as a tiny sleepy bundle of joy, and now it’s already time for his one-year cake smash session!

Since the weather has been so nice lately (at least in the morning and evening), they chose to do the entire session at a local park. It included his adorable cake smash as well as some one-year milestone portraits and several family photos. 

They opted for an early morning session, and the lighting was beautiful! Connor is a serious little guy (there was so much to take in, after all), but he gave us few smiles and grins. When Mom and Dad jumped in, he couldn’t help but giggle. He loves playtime with his parents. The photos with Dad rocked! Leave it to Dad to provide ultimate fun, but Mom still gives the best snuggles. They all turned out so sweet. I really love the candid photo of Mom tickling Connor on the picnic blanket. It’s moments like this that we’ll treasure forever. Babies don’t keep, but photos do. What an honor it is to document this special stage for them!

If you’re ever going to eat cake for breakfast, why not on your first birthday?! Connor dug into his chocolate cake like it was his job. It was smashed and all over his hands and smiling face in no time flat. I’m not sure if he was loving the squishy consistency or the taste of the cake more, but either way, he was too cute!! Amazingly, we were all done in 40 minutes. Connor decided efficiency would be best, and he gave all of his best poses and faces at the beginning, which was good because it was starting to get pretty toasty out there!
