Outdoor Maternity in CT | Stork Surprise

This couple started out on their married life just living it up together with no real plans to start a family. But we all know the saying: “Life is what happens to us when we are making other plans.” And boy did life happen! Things changed when they found out that their family would be growing beyond just the two of them. So they decided to make the most of the adventure together! I was so honored to get to be a part of documenting this next new and exciting part of their lives by shooting their maternity and newborn portrait sessions for this family. 

We went to the great outdoors and chose some ruins to be the location for our maternity shoot. None of us like the cold much, but Mom muscled through and got the most beautiful photographs. Mom looked amazing in this red gown. It was so feminine and elegant. I love the way the wind picked up the train and flowy sleeves making her look just like a goddess. Dad chose a simple but elegant wardrobe which really lent itself not only to the cold weather but looked very nice with the scenery as well. I loved seeing him dote on his wife as she really got into the mood of being in front of the camera. 

After a quick wardrobe change for Mom, she wore a stunning white, floral gown from her maternity shower at the end of our shoot to get great portraits created in that dress as well. I love how dainty the floral detail work is on the lace overlay of her dress. Such a beautiful wardrobe piece for Mom out in mother nature. I love how her striking red lipstick picks up the red in the floral design. Such little details that pop so well in the photos. 

They both loved the photos and will be coming to visit me in the studio with their new baby very soon. Congratulations, Neha!
